PET GUARD
HEALTH WARRANTY

Animal Ark Pet Resort constantly maintains its facilities and refines its procedures to provide a safe, healthy, environment for each and every guest. However, in the event of illness or injury, the PET GUARD Health Warranty will protect you and your pet. For a small fee, PET GUARD protects you from unexpected veterinarian bills and protects your pet by providing immediate hassle-free veterinarian care if an injury or illness does occur during the boarding stay.
Subject to the exceptions, limits, and conditions listed in this brochure, Animal Ark Pet Resort will pay veterinary fees including charges for X-rays, lab tests, I.V. fluids, casts, splints, anesthesia, hospital stays and necessary medications needed to treat illness or injury incurred by the pet during the coverage period.
Animal Ark will make every effort to transport the pet to the pet’s veterinarian but reserves the right to use any licensed veterinarian if the situation warrants it. Transportation costs incurred by Animal Ark are covered by PET GUARD.

COVERAGE PERIOD
For injuries, and most illnesses, coverage begins at the time and date Animal Ark acquires custody of the pet until the time and date the pet is checked out from Animal Ark by the pet owner or their agents. Coverage for some illnesses may extend (on a case by case basis) up to ten days after the pet checks out.

VOIDING OF WARRANTY
This agreement will be rendered null and void in the case of any pet shown not to have received the vaccinations required by Animal Ark from a licensed veterinarian within the 13 months preceding the start of boarding or failure to pay for all services provided by Animal Ark Pet Resort.
CLAIMING PERIOD
Animal Ark Pet Resort must be notified of any original claim under this agreement within ten days after the pet leaves Animal Ark.
PAYMENT OF CLAIMS
If Animal Ark Pet Resort takes the pet to the veterinarian, we will pay the veterinarian directly at that time. Veterinary bills incurred after the pet leaves Animal Ark Pet Resort will be reimbursed by check in the name of the person shown to be the owner in Animal Ark’s records, within ten days of the date of treatment. Payment will be limited to the maximum amount listed in this brochure for the illness or injury for both direct payment and reimbursement combined.
EXCEPTIONS TO WARRANTY
Illness or injury resulting from a condition which is determined to have existed prior to the pet’s boarding or which is a reoccurring condition.
Injuries sustained when two pets are boarded together, or receive playtime together, at the owner’s request and the injury arises as a result of one pet’s action against the other.
Illness, injury, or death as a result of whelping or pregnancy.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
The pet owner agrees that if the pet becomes ill or injured while boarding, Animal Ark has the owner’s permission to secure treatment for the pet. If the pet requires treatment after leaving Animal Ark, the owner may be required to authorize the treating veterinarian to forward a copy of the diagnosis and treatment and to permit examination of any X-rays before the claim will be paid.
Animal Ark Pet Resort may request copies of the pet’s treatment history before settling a claim.
Animal Ark Pet Resort, at its own expense, shall have the right and opportunity to examine any pet whose injury or illness is the basis of a claim.
