Tiny Paws Playtime is for small dogs under 25 pounds. Small dogs also need exercise, socialization, and interaction with other dogs and people just like the big dogs do. It often takes a shy dog a few sessions to get used to Tiny Paws, but our counselors will work with your pet by giving him or her extra attention and most of them do come around. Most pets are very tired by the end of their Playtime session and will be ready to relax with you in the evening. If the Playtime environment just isn’t right for your pet, we will let you know. The little playmates enjoy playing ball, chase the laser, pool time in summer and playing in the snow in winter and really like lap time. In the Animal Ark tradition, your pet’s day in Tiny Paws will be clean, safe and fun filled.
Tiny Paws Playtime meets on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. If you work and need to drop off early in the day or pick up later, arrangements can be made to accommodate your schedule.
Below is information to make your pet’s experience at camp successful:
~ All pets need to be up to date on all vaccinations – rabies, distemper/parvo (DHLPP), and, especially, bordatella. As this is a high-risk environment with a large group of dogs in a confined area, we highly recommend that Tiny Paws Playmate dogs get a bordatella vaccination every six months.
~ All puppies should be spayed or neutered before they are seven months of age.
~ All pets should be using a flea preventative such as Frontline, Comfortis, Advantage or Advantix and we need to see a receipt verifying you have purchased one of these products.
~ Pets should also be taking a heartworm preventative.
~ If your dog should require medical attention while in our care, our customary procedure is to notify you first. If time does not allow this, we will contact your veterinarian for instructions or our on-call veterinarian and transport your dog for immediate emergencycare.
~Your pet will become a part of the pack and will make friends with other dogs, so it is important that your pet attend on a regular basis so he or she isn’t the “new dog in the pack each time”. Your pet needs to attend at least twice a month to maintain his/her active status.
